Project goals
  • Give growing businesses one place for inventory, purchasing, sales, POS and payments instead of spreadsheets and disconnected tools.
  • Serve many companies from one deployment, with each tenant's data strictly isolated and access controlled by roles and permissions.
  • Sell it as a subscription, with plan limits on users, products, warehouses and orders enforced by the platform itself.
  • Go beyond record-keeping with built-in intelligence: reorder suggestions, dead-stock detection and a plain-language assistant.
Project overview

InventoryOS is a multi-tenant SaaS built on Node.js, Express, PostgreSQL (Prisma) and Redis. Every record carries a tenant ID, and middleware injects and enforces the tenant on each request, so one company can never reach another's data. A React app covers daily operations — products, batches, warehouses, suppliers, purchase and sales orders, POS with barcode/QR labels, returns and customer payments — and a separate super-admin console manages tenants, plans, feature flags and announcements. A smart-reorder engine computes safety stock and reorder points from sales history, a dead-stock engine flags non-moving items by age and value, and an assistant answers questions like "show dead stock" or "profit this month" straight from live data.

How we did it

Project steps

01 · Domain modelling: a 48-table PostgreSQL schema with tenant isolation on every record
02 · Security core: JWT access/refresh rotation, Redis token blacklist, account lockout, rate limits, audit logs
03 · Dynamic RBAC — roles and permissions each tenant can define for its own staff
04 · Operations modules: products, batches, warehouses, purchase & sales orders, POS, returns, payments
05 · Intelligence modules: smart reorder, dead-stock analysis and the plain-language assistant
06 · Subscription plans and usage limits with Stripe billing and invoices
07 · Tenant app and super-admin console in React + Tailwind CSS
08 · Integration tests with Jest + Supertest, Docker Compose and PM2 for deployment
Project results

A complete, deployable SaaS foundation: businesses sign up, pick a plan and run their whole stock-to-sale cycle in one workspace, while the platform owner manages every tenant, plan and feature flag from a separate console. Because limits, roles and tenant isolation live in the API rather than the UI, new modules plug in without reworking security.
